The Melody of the Mountains
You see happy people and smiling faces
laughing children in faraway places,
Climbing a mountain or floating downstream
just being outdoors living your dreams.
The call of nature gathers her flock
striving for heaven by scaling a rock,
Losing yourself with the passage of days
giving praise to friendly sun rays.
The melody of the mountains makes my mind wonder
just what it takes to be free,
The melody of the mountains makes music, magic music
it’s in the key of the heart of me.
On the top of a mountain, just looking down
at the vast panorama of all that’s around,
One is in wonder to see such a sight
as waiting to glimpse the last ray of daylight.
Spending your nights at high altitude
notice the change in your attitude,
Ending your dreams with a morning so clear
the days start early, the nights disappear.
The melody of the mountains makes my mind mellow
it sings a song that satisfies me,
The melody of the mountains makes music, magic music
its in the heart of the key of me.
Before you know, it’s time to go home
and leave these lands you love to roam,
But you’ll be back, again and again
singing the melody of the mountains until then.
