If Ever

If ever were a man whose life was blessed
  With a woman’s love through every season,
Whose joy filled soul was touched by love’s caress –
  That man is me for you are the reason.

If ever were a heart that love so filled
  With ev’ry beat it grew more strong and true,
Whose mad desires and thoughts had all been stilled –
  That heart is mine for each beat is with you.

If ever were a love the Lord conceived
  With two souls paired in perfect unity,
Whose future bright and forever believed –
  That love is ours for all eternity.

If ever were a man, a heart, a love
It is I and ours, I thank God above.
